Spring in Japan always brings lots of different things for different people. If you're like me, you're looking forward to the green leaves bursting from the trees, the sakura blossoms, the bamboo shoots springing forth from the ground, fresh greenery everywhere, I could go on and on! I love spring!
But, if you're anything like my husband, you're dreading spring. You're wishing it didn't come! You're wishing that you had somewhere to hide.
Why is that? Well, my husband suffers from hay fever, 花粉症 (kafunsho) and when I say suffer, I mean he REALLY suffers. Itchy eyes, runny nose, general malaise . . . it ain't too pretty. So he tends to want to stay at home when spring hits, trying his best to avoid the outdoors.
I guess that means that the spring picnic I had planned will have to wait for early summer. Oh well. It isn't going to stop me from purchasing some beautiful spring time sake labels, though.
The above link will show you lots of spring sake bottles. If you're like me, you'd have trouble choosing just one!
